Free .sg Domain For SME

Officially launched since 28 Dec 2007 and revised since 28 Dec 2009, The SME (Small Medium Enterprise) Domain Name Reservation Scheme is part of the Infocomm @ SME programme, a collaboration between IDA, ACRA and SGNIC and its registrar IP Mirror. Businesses registered in Singapore without a .sg or .com.sg domain name will enjoy a subsidy from IDA on registration fees for their first domain name for the first two years. This scheme will be open until Dec 2010.

Eligible entity categories include:

1. Businesses
2. Companies
3. Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
4. Public Accounting Firms (PAF)
5. Public Accounting Corporation (PAC)

I am going to register a new business. Can i reserve a .sg or .com.sg domain name at the same time?

Yes you can. Upon successful registration of your business in ACRA's BizFile system, you will be prompted to reserve a domain name.

    (a) Check if the domain name (ending with “.com.sg” or “.sg”) you want is still available for use.
    (b) If it is still available, you can follow online instructions to confirm the reservation request.
    (c) Your domain name will be reserved for a period of three months. If the domain name is not activiated within this period, it will be made available for registration by any other requesting party.
    (d) To activate your domain name, Login to your account, select "SME Free Domain" and follow online instructions to register

If two requests are submitted to reserve the same domain name at the same time, who would obtain the domain name?

Reservations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis in line with SGNIC's policies.

I have forgotten whether my reservation period has ended. What should I do?

You may enquire through the Online Whois search at SGNIC's website .The 'Creation Date' will show the date when the domain name was first reserved. The reservation period will end three months from the 'Creation Date'.

I have forgotten the domain name that I have reserved. What should I do?

If you wish to activate your domain name, but you are unable to recall the domain name that you have reserved, please contact IP Mirror at 62220105 with your company's ACRA registration number and NRIC number of the owner / shareholder / director.

What if I want to change or cancel the reserved domain name?

You may request the change or cancel with the SME team at SGNIC at : sme(at) sgnic (dot) sg

Can I enjoy both the SME Free Domain and .sg Buy-One-Get-One-Free (BOGOF) scheme together?

An applicant who has registered for a .com.sg or .sg domain name under the SME Free Domain Scheme will not be eligible for the BOGOF Scheme and vice versa.

How to Register

If your entity is in an eligible category and you have yet to get a com.sg or .sg domain name, you can get one for free by following the simple steps below:

1. Search for availability of your desired .sg or .com.sg domain name
2. Login to your account or if you do not have an account, signup for free
3. Select “SME Free Domain” and follow online instructions to register.
4. To complete the SME Free Domain registration, you will need to have the following information on hand:

    (a) For Businesses: Your reserved domain name, ACRA Registration Number and NRIC number of any of the business owners
    (b) For Companies: PAC or PAF: Your reserved domain name, ACRA Registration Number and NRIC number of any company shareholders or directors
    (c) For LLPs: Your reserved domain name, NRIC number of any owner OR the ACRA Registration number of your parent company.
