.FI is the country code top-level domain for Finland. It is regulated by FICORA, the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority.
In 2009, a record number of .FI domain names were granted, 48 009 in all. In total, the number of .FI domain names increased to 225 625 by the end of the year. This represents a growth of 20 per cent from 2008. In addition, these statistics only comprise new registrations and excludes renewal of domain names. .FI domain names are this gaining greater visiblity and popularity in the internet community.
