.DE Transfers Require AuthInfo

Starting on February 1, 2010, the AuthInfo procedure must be used by domain name owners to change their registrar. The workflow is as follows:
1. To transfer a domain name, the owner first requests the current registrar to initiate creation of an AuthInfo for the domain concerned. AuthInfo validity expires 30 days after creation.
2. The domain name owner then communicates the AuthInfo to his new registrar. who will send a provider change request with the AuthInfo to DENIC´s registration system.
3. The transfer transaction will be effected when the recorded and transmitted AuthInfos are identical.
For more details, please refer to the country rules for .DE domain names.
IMPORTANT: This AuthInfo procedure is now also available for .DE TRANSIT domains. As passwords will be issued by DENIC to the owner/admin data submitted, domain name owners must ensure that the data submitted is correct.
