Bizfile 2-for-1 Deal:  COM.SG and .SG Promotion

From 11 Jan 2011 onwards, all new businesses and companies registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) via its BizFile system on or after 1 January 2011, will be eligible to register their first ".com.sg" or ".sg" domain name for two years at the price of one!

To take advantage of this special deal, applicants can refer to this guide:

1. Upon successful registration and payment for your business/company registration via ACRA's BizFile system (at www.bizfile.gov.sg), you will be immediately shown the option to reserve a domain name.

2.  Check & ascertain that the .com.sg or .sg domain name you want is available for your reservation / registration (whois query result for available domain names should display "Domain Not Found") .

3.  Provide your name, contact number and email address to confirm the reservation request in the system. SGNIC will use this information to contact you should SGNIC require any clarifications.

4.  Using the "whois" search box at the top of SGNIC's website, do a whois check to ascertain that your domain name has been reserved.  Successfully reserved domain names will have a Whois query result displaying a "Creation Date", which refers to the date the the domain name was first reserved.

5.  Once you have successfully reserved your domain name at the BizFile system, you will need to "activate" your domain name within the 90-calendar-day reservation period in order to use it.  The reservation period will end 90 calendar days from the "Creation Date".

6.  To activate your domain name, log in to your account,  select "Bizfile 2-for-1 Deal" and follow online instructions to complete the transaction.  Please have the following information on hand :

  • For businesses  : Your reserved domain name, ACRA Registration Number and NRIC number of any of the business owners
  • For companies : Your reserved domain name, ACRA Registration Number and NRIC number of any company shareholders or directors

 

Promotion Terms and Conditions:

  • Each business or company registered on or after 1 Jan 2011 will be entitled to one domain name reservation under this promotion
  • Businesses registered with ACRA prior to 1 Jan 2011 will not be eligible
  • To enjoy the promotion, reserved domain names must be successfully activated within 90 calendar-days starting from the "Create Date" as shown in the Whois Search Result.  The qualifying domain name must  be recorded as successfully registered / activated in ipmirror's control panel
  • Reserved domain names that are not activated by the end of the 90-calendar-day reservation period will be released to the open market for public purchase on a first-come first-served basis
  • If you wish to activate your domain name but are unable to recall the domain name that you have reserved, or are unable to activate your reserved name within your allocated reservation period, you may send an email to dnq@sgnic.sg for more information.  Please have the ACRA registration number and NRIC number of the owner/shareholder/director on hand to facilitate the enquiry.
  • If the activated domain name is deleted during the promotion period either upon request by the customer or due to non-compliance of rules and regulations, the discounted domain name will be chargeable at full cost
  • This promotion cannot be enjoyed with other existing offers or promotions
  • This promotion will be available from 11 January 2011 until further notice from SGNIC

Revised Reservation Period from 19th Dec 2011 onwards

From 19th Dec 2011 onwards, domain names reserved under this scheme will be subject to a 90-calendar-day reservation period.  For example, where the incorporation date is 1 June 2011, the domain name can be reserved and activated by 29th August 2011 to enjoy prices under this promotion.     Domain Names that were reserved under this scheme prior to 19 Dec 2011 will not be affected by this change, and will continue to be allowed the 3-month reservation period as previously provided.
